For America

Tue, Oct 16, 2001; by Teisha Winkler. American Will

We saw the face of evil in billowing clouds of ash, In twisted steel and fire cascading from the crash. Evil thought to vanquish the light in the lagoon To bring Lady Freedom to her knees, despairing in the gloom.

But, the freedom that America earned by standing for the right, Subscribing to self-evident truths and striving towards the light. This love of independence that cracked a copper bell That tolerates opposing views and wishes all men well.

Today that will stands resolute to fight for all menâs rights. To offer to the world at large the chance to join the fight. For where oppressors seek to bend all others to their laws Americans will join the fray and rally to the cause.

For Godâs greatest gift to mankind was that of his freewill. No man living on this earth should seek that will to kill. We ask but for the grace of God to strive to do whatâs right. And hope for the day when peace will dwell and gone the need to fight.
